CHARACTER RESEARCH

Actors can spend months, and in some cases (Daniel Day Lewis), years, working on a character. We can investigate every detail of his existence. We can find out what the character had for breakfast at the age of five, the day that the character’s mother slipped on the kitchen floor, or maybe what type of underwear our character wore the night of his prom, and so on. I wonder, has any actor ever been so consumed with burning curiosity when it came to his so-called loved ones? Or is it a practice we reserve for only our creations?
