NATIONAL HOLIDAYS

Whenever there is a national holiday, most creative people have no idea what do with themselves. Do we pretend to care about whatever the holiday commemorates? Or do we just attend some sort of eating ritual and smile? It takes a dedicated artist to say “THIS is what matters, and in spite of the real or imagined social pressure, today I will do what MATTERS."

THE THEATER

TRUST

People in Hollywood often have families so that they can finally trust someone. Then the ultimate betrayal takes place - they discover that spouses leave and children sue. Maybe the whole idea that people might not betray you for their self interest is an absurd idea to start with.
